Anyway to delete a ship in Creative?
I started a capital ship on the planet, and placed it on the ground. Bad idea, no landing gear, so I removed all the blocks then the cockpit fell into the planet. I tried deleting the ship's folder from the Shared folder but the game replaces it.
Then to add insult to injury, I created another one on a small platform, like a car lift. It fell off upside down. GRRRR
Deleted all the blocks, then the cockpit fell into the planet. That's 2!!

The third I created on a bigger platform. Now I have 2 useless objects in my game.

Well, it's always better to build Small Vessels to take you to orbit. Then from there you can build a Capital Vessel. It's WAY easier. Good luck!

Don't delete the folder, rename a blueprints folder and it won't show in your BP list in game. I did this with all the standard tier groups.

It is best to build in orbit as there is no land or structure to interfere. It is a bug certainly, but it is a Unity Engine bug as I have experienced the same in other Unity based games.

to delete ship in creative:

open game console ( ~ key), type-> di (as in Debug Info) press enter.

Close console and aim at the ship to be deleted. Take note of the ID number beside the vessel's name which shows up in the debug info panel at top of screen.

Open console and type-> destroy <IDnumber> press enter, do not include <>,

example:
di
destroy 35

Step 1: Don't necro.
Step 2: Irrelevant, if you followed step 1 this thread could have rested in peace.

What ChronicBCE said but...

Instead of trying to fix it on a planet like that:

Snapshot your CV as a blueprint, start a new creative game, this time using Omicrom Orbit as the starting spot (It's a creative only starting location). Spawn the ship and work on it in space where you can address everything you don't like about it's design.

you guys know this thread is a year old right?

Oops

It's ok guys, I never did figure it out. :) Thanks for the answers.

What ChronicBCE said works if you can still see the ship, but as I remember, the ship fell into the planent and there was no trace of it. I haven't had this happen since, and I've recreated many games since.

Oh, and it had nothing to do with blueprints, so that wasn't the correct answer I think...
I just remembered, before there were ways to find your ship in space, I did create a capital chip in space. I went back to the planet to get more supplies then could not find it again. LOL
I was pissed..

RIP, my thread...

Oh, I assumed since you were still playing you figured it out... find '' (that's two single quotes) will find everything in your current playfield, get the ID like that.

Oh cool, I didn't know that. I started a new game when alpha 5 came out. It's a good command to know though.

If you had started a new thread you'd get a better answer btw.
Yes that method is still the same, however there is a faster way of doing it now. This thread will likely be locked by Steam so if you want to make a new thread you'll probably get more up to date answers and save yourself some time.
