Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Need info on Star / System designations please
When looking at the System Info Map, each star/system has a designation in brackets, ie. [O] [A] [F] [K]... etc. But some of them have variations, like [G4] [M3] [K2V], etc.

I understand that a is hotter than a [B1] which is hotter than a [B2], etc. But can someone please explain the designations of those with numbers and additional letters included? I can't seem to find any information explaining the differences between say a [K2] and a [K2V]. What exactly does the V on the end represent? Is that supposed to be the "luminosity" class (Roman Numeral)? If so, does that affect the strength of solar panels?

Thanks in advance.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_classification

It's mostly flavor, though. Only a few star type have different systems generated around them.

O is the hottest type (an O star is usually around 25,000 Kelvin which comes out to 44,540 Fahrenheit or 24,726 Celsius )

From hottest to coldest: O, B, A, F, G, K and M.

Generally you'll find Erestrum nodes on M and G systems and Zacosium on the hotter ones going the other direction on the scale. (O and B type stars)

Generally you'll fine Zacosium nodes on Lava and Barren Metal planets and you'll find Erestrum nodes on Tropical, Ocean and Temperate planets.

Hope this helps,

Empyrionpedia in the PDA has info in vanilla. Reforged Eden Empyrionpedia has much more if you are playing that.

As with the above, in RE the star type actually matters, too.
