Other than non-deposit sources, you can't until you leave the Crown sector behind. The only asteroids present are ice asteroids. If you really must have those immediately, then the Ashon II Orbit start might be for you.

You get to Omicron and build a warp SV. Then you can get to the planets that have that stuff. This has been the pattern of this game for a long time.

correct Skillon is the solution we have there now in combination with the 3 other moons + the asteroid field 2 warp 2 CV 1 warp SV built and swim in material on server with reg Pois simply on Skillon make the Pois and build deconstructor...works wonders

You can find a little from looting containers at some POI (like abandoned drone base).

Otherwise, you need warp to get to the barren planet, or another system.
