E1.9 Starter Planets - Getting Gold... How?
So to repair the Destroyed Transport in the Asteroid belt you need the EVA booster or you just die...
Except to build it you need 1 Gold ingot , which takes 5 gold ore..
If you're exceptionally lucky you may find a Gold bearing rock at the bottom of one of the deep lakes .. but this doesn't yield 5 ore..
So how do you get the remainder of what you need? Or is there another way to et the EVA booster?

I'm sure if I keep it up, I'll be internet rich in no time.

We both know you don't do it for money, but you've been doing it for years. No one else does it with anything approaching your consistency. This particular instance was more shameless than usual.
Well, when all you use your own stuff, you have screenshots of your own stuff. And when you make a reference to the scene from Conan the Barbarian about the inconstant nature of the universe and the virtue of relying on your own hard work, it's thematically congruent to use screenshots of your own stuff.

I use my own ships and bases, and am loathe to recommend anything from the Workshop lest I promote consumerism. I have no reason to promote, since I've published virtually nothing in the Workshop, by choice... because again I despise promoting consumerism. I want people to be self-sufficient. That is what I have consistently promoted, not myself.

Every ship is also a tool for teaching that self-sufficiency. We're all just rocks in the river of ideas, shaping the currents as they flow around us and being slowly shaped in return. I'm just gonna step away from that metaphor now while it still sounds coherent.

If you offer a kid candy, he's NOT going to use it to learn how to make candy: he's going to eat it and enjoy the instant gratification for the brief moment that it lasts. That consumer behavior is probably learned or brainwashed, but I won't be the peddler.
When I first started I used only Prefab stuff or stuff from the workshop.
But most of it was unsatisfying and I usually ended up modifying them myself to suit my needs and taste. I did learn a lot from taking apart other peoples builds.
I think one of the best ways to learn how to build stuff is to spawn someone else's BP in and take it apart to see how it was built. Yeah, The Big Brzezinski self promotes a lot but I don't let it bother me. It's his business and nobody has to look at it.

Reverse-engineering is a respectable pursuit. It's still engineering. It's certainly not consumerism.

My last two projects were big tail sitter CVs and mech-shaped HVs. Neither idea originated from me. They came to me through other players on this forum. Now, I could sit on what I made from these and other ideas, or I could be another link in the chain. I generally choose the latter.

The reason I bring up SVs at all in this thread is because gold is a pain to find in Crown. Then you have to process it in a large constructor on a BA. However, you can build an SV that gets around this problem, such as that one I happened to already have an uploaded picture of. You can sit there in air conditioned and oxygenated comfort while you operate your drone outside. Then you just buy whatever suit boosters you need later.
