To hide markers from the storyline, this is done in the PDA on the upper part where you toggle 'show on Hud'.
From the markers panel you can select and delete or edit any markers that you have created.
If you're playing solo, there is a way that you could use a console command or two to deal with it and not have to actually travel all that way. godmode would let you avoid catastrophic death and the teleport command allows teleporting directly into a named playfield. You don't get to choose the specific spot, of course, so godmode is a hedge against bad luck, AND using [Shift] and [Ctrl] lets you move faster than any SV. Afterward you would teleport back to the playfield where you started, to find your ship and resume your game without that marker distraction. Pressing [G] when you're done disengages godmode.
