salt is in the soil anywhere that can give you crushed rock on most planets. I think you have a higher chance on arid planets.

I found it on Lava Planets or Moons when I mined gold. As, I was mining it Gold, I got Sulfur and Salt.,

I also found it on the home planet when I mined the Spider Nests on the terrain.

You cannot obtain salt because there is no item called "salt" in the default game.
If you are playing on a server you need to ask on your server or in their discord.
If you're playing a custom scenario you need to ask on their workshop page or discord.

There is plenty of salt on the "Dread" planet, in the RE scenario.

Dead planets have lots of salt. Mine it from the dried up pillars.

How do I find a dead planet? Does it say it's dead in the info pannel?

There are no planets called dead.

You need to ask on your server.

I got Salt while playing Eden Reforged on the beginner planet by just mining for other ores.

All those dead planets will have "dried lake bed" biome, and mining dried up corals there gives you 1-9 salt. That's if you do not want to leave starting systems yet. Otherwise, you can buy it on ocean planets, which is easier.
