Solar Panels and Capacitators - If you think they don't work...
---------------------------------------------------------------
If you think these devices don't work or are bugged, don't despair but run this checklist:
- Capacitators will fill up as long as your structure is at idle operation without any heavy energy-consuming devices running; if capacitators are empty (they have 1500 fuel equivalent to use) then power is obtained from your fuel tanks if any.
- A sufficient number of panels and capacitators must be installed depending on your energy demands. Check device consumption in the device description, and add-up the numbers for devices that you plan to run at the same time.
- Your panels must be orientated towards the sun, and the weather must be fine to fill the capacitators; never a problem in space but planets have sun shining interruptions.
- You can watch the capacitators fill up or drain in real-time in the Control menu, left side, under 'Power left'. If they don't increase when not fully charged then or you lack panels and/or capacitators, or there is no sun towards your panels, or something drains energy in your structure.
