New player - how do I upload a blueprint?
I have an SV I made from scratch, and it sounds like there is a way to upload a blueprint. Can anyone help me, if that is a thing? I'd like to share. :)

Can anyone tell me more about clear pivot or the upload process? If I am looking at the blueprint screen do I see something to upload right there? Some posts I saw when trying to research how to do this talked about needing to go into game files and access things that way and I got a bit turned around when it started talking about going into directory files to find things etc.

Thanks.

if you hit f2 to bring up your factory. click your blueprint and press publish, is a few options to select for the blueprint. when you click ok it will upload to steam. you can go to your steam empyrion page and click workshop to view your workshop uploads or your files. and set up opions, descriptions, screenshots etc; or list as private, public, hidden friends only..

That impulse of sharing will make you a valuable member of this community.

By default, the blueprint menu is mapped to "alt-o", but open any menu or even inventory and you will see the tab for blueprints along the top of the screen.

before you upload your blueprint be sure to run clearpivot. saves you and others a lot of potential headaches. some of my early ones i forgot to before uploading.

in console

Pi nameofblueprinthere -clearpivot

spawn it again and save it one more time

then upload!

Punt to Jalore, no freakin idea what that "-clearpivot" is all about. I never did that, not even in a joke.

Look at your creation, press Alt+o then click "save as" this saves your vessel as a blueprint. then you will have the option to share/upload it to workshop.

Clearpivot resets the prefab's grid axes and recalculates the center lines. Very usefull. It just makes your blueprint blocks have right calculations and coordinate values.

yeah, it removes a lot of odd behaviors from blueprints, such as spawning oddly, si issues or flying or moving oddly. allows for snapping of blueprints to work better.

I've uploaded several dozens of creations over the years, and never heard of the clearpivot command. My stuff isn't popular, but it isn't broken. Much.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Unrelated question...when I tried to award the answer, it asked me to spend steam points on an image. What are steam points and what do you use them for? Does choosing one of these images unlock it for me? Am I giving my steam points to the poster of the answer? Thanks for any info on this unrelated question. :)
Nevermind. Just found the points shop, and purchased a background. Fun.
Okay. Published I think!

It seems to be only "Right-Alt O" key. Didn't work for me when I hit Left-Alt.
Both right and left should work I believe. Blueprint is Vimana 1. Started working on my first cv today, Vimana 2. :)
