I've tried it numerous times with Skillon ( I usually start on this world )
I've tried it twice with Akua, same map is being loaded, different seeds.
Both with custom difficulty settings, as well as the standard Medium.
I haven't looked at any of the new playfield files, but I'm unsure whether I would know what to look for to determine the degree of randomness. It's possible that Eleon decided to abandon randomness altogether for the starter moons now. My tentative first vanilla game was the new advanced start (while I edit my mod), so I haven't had a chance to test Leanora's claim. Ravien has far more playfield experience and is better able to determine this than I can.
For example, if you use different seeds but there's still always an iron rock 2 meters to your left and a silicon rock 3 meters to your right after you land in the escape pod the seed generator might not be working right.
It's broken multiple times before.
Just remember when testing seeds to fully quit the game back to windows.
the only variation i have noticed is where enemies spawn, where the golem hot spots are. everything else identical, down to the trees and the plants.,so yeah, i'm having the same issue as the original poster.
Someone needs to report as a bug on the official forums.
first of all, that's fun?
second of all, where in the change log is this mentioned? i just did another set of searchers, 'starter' 'seed' 'random' 'planet', etc. in the patch notes after reading this, i skimmed it once already and did a search in case this wasn't a bug before I ever posted. what did i miss?
