No...BUT you can use an auto miner to get it over time. You have to have the game settings set to "Auto Miner Depletion = No" when starting.

I know about that but sadly there is no option to make that work with ONLY pentax. otherwise it feels way to cheaty to have infinite everything else . I just wanted to grow it because I saw it was growing in a poi and thought maybe I was missing something and it's passable to grow myself.

iron, copper, silicon, and carbon are pretty much already infinite almost everywhere because of meteorites. others too depending on the planet/system. a little different perspective on it.

As a practical matter, it's easier to just buy pentaxid. Lots of stations sell it as warp fuel through station services. Mining stations often sell raw pentaxid in bulk.

Get something to mine the asteroids. Once you mine one asteroid you should never run out.

it's not about NEEDing it. it's just like I said, I saw a poi with them growing and it looked cool. I have a base with a pretty amazing garden and I just wanted to add some cool crystals to it. was thinking it would look cool in the entry way.
