Flying a Hover Vessel like a Small Vessel!
So, I had an idea while on a multiplayer server to make an HV capable of flying around like an SV for some awesome flying turret action. - Something weird happened.

So I removed all of the Hover Engines and placed upward and downward thrusters onto it (along with the standard left/right/forward/backward thrusters). Everyone on the server thought it wasn't going to work.
The spacebar doesn't control upward thrusters directly, but to activate them, you just use the booster jump with Shift + Spacebar. That height limit of 3 meters? Nope! Without the Hover Engines pulling you down, you no longer have that height limitation.

What's odd is that without the Hover Engines- gravity doesn't pull you down. If you don't hold C to activate downward thrusters or turn off power, you'll float all the way into space- and keep on going.
The HV specific RCS module has no pitch or roll controls, so you can't aim down or up in the air or in space.

Taking my HV through the atmosphere and into space was hilarious.

When in space, your HV speed limit is the same- It doesn't become 110m/s.
With no roll or pitch controls however, it is incredibly difficult to fly and for some reason, the C key doesn't work often when in space- I was almost stuck in space with my HV. I should've taken more screenies, but the only one I took is this-

(A picture taken mere microseconds before hitting the ground, showing my speed in a hover vehicle after turning off my engine and falling to the surface (C had stopped working) )

Oh I never mentioned this- but your jump boost? For some reason, the higher altitude you get, the faster it recharges. By the time you get about 400 or so meters into the air, it becomes instant-refill, rocketing you to high speeds and out of the planet.
One small step for Hover Vessels- One giant leap for gunboats!

Imagine making a HV with 2 turrets. One on either side. You can now fire in all directions with a tiny spacecraft- essentially deployable "turret vessels"- just toss em out the hangar with their turret AI on and watch em as their artillery pounds the enemy!
The possbilities are endless!

If anyone knows of any other ways to maneuver a HV in space accurately- lemme know :D The hover vessel desires to ascend!

Edit: I forgot to mention this too- It works amazingly at climbing mountains >:O Just Shift-boost once, hold C and you'll hold an altitude of about 300 meters. Use forward/back/left/right to where you want to go and then turn off your engines to descend quickly and you're at your destination!

Super Cool! I actually didn't know about shift boost! That's amazing. I discovered multiple engines = stable platform just yesterday, now I love my HV,

I wanted to make a carrier to take over mountains, maybe this could work. I did make one with SV haul but HV would fall off on decent. When I tried to enclose it at all the HV either got stuck or just flipped out of the way.

Also during this a hover engine got loose and is now falling through the earth and back down from the sky, over and over and over.
