Any chance for peaceful mode?
I like survival portion of this game, it's really fun. But I don't like shooters, I'd rather build and explore than fight. Is there any chance for peaceful mode, like that in Minecraft? I know setting no drones mode workaround, btw.

Well I guess that's what creative mode is for, but perhaps you want the criteria of survival, but without the hostilities? I can understand that.

+1 for a peaceful mode.

At least I would like to know what the devs think about it (I've made a similar thread some months ago too, without answer).

Then "write your own game" is valid awser as well. I might do as you suggested (if it will work), but if there are people who would enjoy such game mode and creating it would not involve much work, devs could incorporate it in the game and widen game's target audience.

Create a scenario for it. I'm sure that's the way the Dev's see it going.

This is a leget option, and Im sure that the devs will take that position, howevver, not everyone is good with making a scenario. Options make for good games, and an option for no enemies to spawn would hurt no one, Although it might be a pain for the devs to code at this point.

I actually like creativerse way of peacful mode. Instead of removing hostiles, they don't attack unless you attack first. Not sure how well it would work in game or not though

Point is if you want a peaceful game then DONT buy Empyrion. Gave people the option so they can have it and still they think that what rest of the game should go on hold while they catch this passive version up? Nah sorry you should not have bought the game if you had issues with how the game was played.

I hear not only is Subnatica passive but you even get a pet to follow you around......Great game for kids and the adults can play this.

You know I keep seeing you post in these threads and almost every time your acting like an ass to people. Don't you have better things to do with your time? We are allowed to express our interests, and just because we might like to see something in the game doesn;t mean we don;t enjoy the game. If we wanted to play something else we would be playing it.

I'm sensing teenage insecurity about maturity, if you use that as an example as kids vs adults.

Start A SP game , jump into godmode straight up, zip over to the drone base and the CV patrol base, , wipe them off the map, zip back to your start area, if you leave a survival constructor it will highlight on map, jump out of godmode and play.
You will have drones at some POIs still, but thats pretty much the fastest way to get a peaceful game and keeping it set on high or hard.

Or just edit the yaml of that planet so theres no drone base or CV base before the game starts.

Next update will wipe what you edited in the template folder but your planet will already be created so should not effect your map at all.

Or create a scenario in the scenario folder.

This is a sandbox game, it is specifically designed to be editable so you can create any type of game style you like, yamls.
So it is a first person shooter.
Its a survial game.
Its an exploration game.
Its an engineering game.
Its a mining game.
It can be fast paced or slow, its completely up to the player.

Very easy to take all enemies out of the game, there all controleld by yaml entries so you can stop them very easy.

If you list specifically what you want changed and from what default game your playing, ie, SP or MP default, list all the things you want changed, it really doesnt take long I can whip it up in the morning for you.

Thats a good idea puddlefoot -like the originator I get fed up with the fighting aspect of it especially as you get more xp for killing things. When I've tried to kill a critter they usually come at me in droves instead of just 1 or 2! And the aliens at the abandoned mine are horrific too and the outposts, spaceports and other non peaceful poi's shoot at you just when exploring. I like to explore, mine, trade and get loot but prefer not to be killed doing it!

As Tal'ruan said, a mode where the enemies only attack you when you attack them would work very well. And I think it shouldn't be so hard to program.

I still play Empyrion from time to time, but I would play a lot more if there's an peaceful mode. The more options, the better - both to the players and to the devs (wider audience = more sales).

Maybe I will slap a little scenario together just for that, have to be a little careful with scenarios, with updates they become alot of work to keep operational, but just a default one with the settings changed shouldnt be to much work, I will take a look at it on the weekend when I get some more time.

Awsome. Would it be only specific planets or all? Really appreciate this btw. Like Merlin and baleksus I enjoy the building, resource gathering/mining, exploration, even survival management far as needing food, dealing with weather, etc. But not always up to being attacked all the time.

Unfortunatly it's a common theme in these kind of games to only give you attackers or remove them completely. Or in some cases only creative where you don;t get to enjoy the rest of the expereince.
