Try your antivirus software too. Thermida needs permission to run i believe.
" Themida is a software protection product designed to prevent software from being "cracked" " --said someone on a forum here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21106446-Is-Themida-a-legitimate-threat

I got this error and I fixed it (for now at least) by uninstalling the game, then going into the Steam folder and delete the remaining Empyrion game folder, then reinstalled it and the error was gone
Game has been very stable for me with minor issues sometimes not connecting to or seeing servers at all sometimes for MP, but otherwise fine. Going to try the same delete game folder trick and then report back.
Un-overclocked the timings on my memory and it works fine now?
I will put them all back and see if it works now, then report back...
This is what happens when you require 3rd party software to launch you own. It's sloppy, stupid, and completely preventable. They brought in EAC because they couldn't patch the holes in their code (and from what I've seen, EAC is a speedbump, not a blockade). So now, instead of just the complexities of launching through Steam (which has been an issue in the past, remember), yet another third party program must work perfectly with both.
EAC is anticheating software written by EasyAntiCheat LTD (established 2013, but the software dates to 2006 before the company was founded to take it commercial) to prevent cheating and hacking.
Different software.
