Day/Night Cycle. How do this work now in 8.0+
i have a planet stuck on time "24" i can find anywhere in .static .dynamic or gameoptions files that relates to day/night timers or planet rotation speeds.
My planet to have a day/night cycle just the timer is stuck.

Anyone knows how this works?

exactly what I was going to ask.

There is something going on alright, I had a base at the edge of a pole too and its was almost constant day. And for a long time my solar panels were delivering a huge surplus. Then at some point the days were still long, but the panels delivered far less power.

My guess is that next to a day/night cycle related to distance near the pole, there is also a season effect at work as that would explain the change in power output.

Pretty much. Planets are tiled on their axis so near the poles you will have longer days/nights.

The issue for me is not that it is either day or night, just that the timer to day or night do not progress.

If it is MP might not be much you can do about it. I am not too familliar with that aspect of the game, wish I could help more. :(

In that case I would make a bug report

Open console. Type in debugmenu.
Hit ESC. You should have a new icon in the upper left to access the debugmenu. There you can change the time scale. I believe 6 is the default. You might have somehow changed it to 0.

I think its because the planet time calculation is screwed. They said they changed it for angular tilt.

But he still has a day and night cycle, but the counter that indicates how long till sunrise/sunset doesn't work. If the time scale were at 0 then there would be no day night cycle. I think he stubled upon a minor bug.
