Ship type can not be repaired

So Ive docked my SV set up the repare block and console, put materials into the console but it scans my SV and gives the mesage "ship type can not be repaird" uuuum why?

are you trying to use the 'repair to template' that takes the t2 repair bay AND a 'template save' from the control panel of the ship
its probably the template if you already have the t2, open the vehicle cp and look at the bottom left of the main page, you will find a "Save Template" button
i suggest you do a normal repair first, for this make sure its set to 'repair blocks' only (some times you have to check the 'auto-repair' for some reason)

T1 the repare to templat is grayed out I'm only attempting a basic block repair

then make sure its set to that in the console and try the auto-repair check box

i just tested and that worked for me, it is buggy tho, because you used to be able to hit the Repair Now button (in experimnental) but now its not available for some reason
also be sure to wait, even exiting the console between any changes (like adding ores) it takes some time for the console to rescan between changes

You can't put materials into the console until it is done scanning...the drop box is grayed out, so that is wierd to start with.

Do you have any restricted blocks in the ship you are trying to repair? Maybe that is preventing it. Make sure you have saved a template. You shouldn't have to just to repair blocks, but hey, its alpha and things are buggy.

After you activate the console, close it then wait a few seconds then check it again. I was using the repair console last night with only this issue.

it was auto scanning it'd stop Id fill the box, no restricted blocks, now the SV is above my skill level I used console commands to be able to spawn it.

sv above your lvl should not matter
i added a thought above, the vehicle wont repair unless its turned off
other than that i have no idea, i have used mine 2 times since we started this chat so it does work (atleast on my end)

Automatic repair, along with the Repair option activatated should work well.

removed the repair bock and reinstalled it (noticed you can only place them facing up now) now it works

I had the same problem with the <ship type type can not be repaired >. If you have saved a template (ship control panel, lower left), turn off power of the ship you want to repair, have all the needed ressources in the repair console, and you get that messade (ship type can not be repaired), then just lower your ship closer to the repair bay and it should remove that message. I think that this message should be changed, it is confusing.

UPDATE

Playing with the high of the ship above the repair bay does not work for me anymore. I can't repair my CV using the template, only the repair blocks option works. Hope they will fix that issue, because I will quit doing raid in PVP--- I play solo and I spend most of my time repairing my ship... not fun....

I had this problem as well and it helped me to re-center my ship on the block. Worth a shot.

I just make shure it is docked and you have patience (sometimes I must open the P-menu and
"look" at the repair bay, then it "see" the ship).

I have not read through all the comments but I will just put this here incase it was missed. I had same issue with my CV and basicly I had to spend alot of time inching it this way and that turning it off and with auto checked in console then back on untill I found the sweet spot which seems to be the exact center of your ship over the repair block to get it to repair to template. Once you find that spot mark it and you will be good next time.

Hi Gang - Like Saving a blueprint to Re-Build (ALT+O), you cannot have anything stored in a ship that is not eligible to be "built" in the Factory. This would include plants, motor cycles / cycle kits, etc. Check yer cargo hold, mateys, and remove any of that tainted booty. Hope that helps!

And if it is powered on the console will tell you "Ship must be powered off"

For anyone sarching a solution not described yet - I had the same problem when my SV was docked with a slight tilt.
The repair station said "Ship type can not be repaired"
I re-entered the SV and flew up a meter, adjusted the ship to be exactly horizontal and dropped down again so all docking pads were in contact with my bases floor.
Afterwards it worked.
