gui icons

i spent hours looking, now i ask. is there a guide to the icons on the top of the left and right information boxes? I have some of them figured out just in general use, but many of them have no meaning to me. is there a guide for them?

There's no guide, and the information in this forum is incomplete. Sounds like a job for Melnmarn!

In general, the icons to the right are environmental and the others have to do with helmet, jet pack, etc. You'll figure it out.

• The blue ones on the left side: press tab once and hover your mouse over them.
  
• The ones above the blue ones (like poison etc.): After pressing tab, make sure to switch to the "Stats" tab to see these and their explanations
  
• The ones on the left of tools: sorry, I think you have to switch modes on your tool and remember the corresponding icon.

I watched this video, and I can attest to the fact that Rakoona, who produced the video, covers the icons and other elements on the HUD very well.

However, watching the video caused one entire hemisphere of my brain to ooze out of my ear, dropping my IQ by 10 points (half). This is an extremely goofy, 5-year-old level video.
