Alien Outpost: where is the core?

Hi,
today I assaulted the Alien Outpost and entered the station. I tried to find the core for half an hour...Google says it's near the central section, but I couldn't find it. So to stop the sentry guns from bothering me, I blew up the whole central station (including the power cores) and the sentries stopped working (screenshot[postimg.org] ). But I cannot salvage the station, so I guess the core is still intact. I was able to take out the 3 satellite stations by destroying their cores and these stations can be salvaged as usual. Does any1 know where to find the core of the main station?

Use your flashslight and look around while ascending/descending in the elevator. I think that's how I found it.
