Since both of them have to do with dialogue that seems like it should be triggering something with the mission system, but doesn't.
No, that's not really a bug but more a quirk with how the missions work. Assuming you're talking about the randomized missions from the uch captains.
No, I mean when I go up to the Lead Researcher, and ask about exploration missions, he gives three dialogue options, one for Strange Statues, one for Object 82, and one to ask about something else. If I click on either of the dialogue options for missions, they each in turn give me three further dialogue options, one to ask about other exploration missions, one to ask about something else and go back to the initial dialogue menu, and one to exit the conversation. Crucially, however, none of these dialogue options result in a mission confirmation box opening up, nor do they do populate an inactive mission into the PDA.
Missions that are already in the PDA work just fine, and I've managed to get two survey missions from captains, although that doesn't work reliably, but I can't see anything else that I could do to start an exploration mission.
I'm assuming that there is, in fact, a mission, and that you activate it from the Lead Researcher. Am I actually supposed to be going where the dialogue tells me, and the game will activate the mission when I get there? That's one of the few things I haven't tried, because I don't want to mess with the POIs for the missions if that doesn't work.
Not everything is a PDA mission. There's a lot of missions that are not shown or tracked in the PDA.
So... Strange Statues and Object 82 are tracked some other way then? I should have indeed just followed the dialogue prompt and all would have worked out just fine?
That was my initial assumption, but since it the dialogue seemed to follow the same format as the dialogue with the captain, I thought the lack of a PDA mission popping up meant it was bugged. Are all the missions for the Lead Researcher set up this way?
You don't even need to visit a UCH ship to pick those up. You can find them as you travel around. Project Eden is an exploration focused scenario so a lot of things you'll just find out and about.
Well. Now I feel silly for all the wasted frustration.
Thank you for your patience. I'll stop derailing this thread now.
It's only been a little over a month since this was posted.
If you are not happy with the time frame, I would be happy to offer a refund on the price you paid for the scenario.
