key matrix ?

Had this game for several years and played for awhile after getting it. Quit playing for couple years. Just started playing again after 1.8 update. I got a key matrix the other day. My understanding is that i can use this at the matrix pillar to teleport. Does it or will it allow me to teleport to the other moons and planets in the starting system. If i do teleport, does it use that key up, or allow me to keep using it? Also, if i do teleport is there a way back to where i started and do you keep articles in inventory. I do realize once you get an sv you can travel by ship to other moons without warp drive, but need warp to get to other planets.

Yes, it allows you to teleport between the 4 moons. You can keep using it to go back and forth for your needs. Nothing changes in your inventory. Essentially, you can place the motorbike in inventory or que up a cheap sv or hv to do everything on the moons without getting a proper sv. I travelled between the moons before building my first sv. The camp right beside each obelisk can be used to set up for temporary storage while collecting resources if you intend to use the bike.

hi, can you tell me where you found the Matrix key? I reached the obelisk, but I have one of the convoy cars stuck in the texture of the obelisk. I have access to the door, but I can't go in there without the matrix key. I would appreciate it if you could tell me where to find it

I believe it is at the Font of Knowledge (Camp) - there is somekind of alien sculpture thing and you just have to stand on it. It lights up and should trigger event at which point it gives you the key matrix.

Im standing on alien sculpture thing and there is a green light above but i dont have the key of matrix , what am i missing?

Each moon has 1 Obelisk, 1 Font of Knowledge and several Activators.

I am not sure if the Matrix Key requires you to trigger the quest log from the computer terminal from Tash or not, so to be safe, access the computer at her campsite and read all the logs, and do not forget to take the datapad inside the Quest locker. Each moon has a different campsite, they are not all located close to obelisk or Fonts, so you may have to search them out. Some are outside like on Akua, some are indoors like on Skillion (inside crashed ship Opportunity).

Now you need to go to the Font of Knowledge on your moon. Stand inside it until it powers on. After a second or two your task log at upper right will say something like "...generating". Then you will have the Matrix Key in your inventory. It looks like a datapad. You should also get some story text from IDA about updating your datapad.

Now that you have the Matrix Key, you need to keep it in your inventory to allow you to open the door on the Obelisk. If you put the key down inside a storage somewhere, the door will be closed.

Each Obelisk has multiple teleporters to allow movement between the moons. So you can complete the Tash story and gain access to materials not native to your moon. Some moons are more abundant in certain resources. Also some moons have unique features worth locating, like the Pirate Trader on the Barren Moon, or the Talon Farmers all over Akua.

Make sure you are at the Font of Knowledge, NOT the Activators.

I did a test by starting a new game, went directly to the Font of Knowledge - nothing else. I got the key, so no other actions needed. If it doesn't give the key, step away from it and try again.
