MS, SS, GV?
Where I normally read Base, CV, HV, I see sometimes letters like MS, SS, GV.
What is that about?

Those are the internal names for CVs, SVs, and HVs.

I've been curious about them as well. Is this the correct break down?

MS = Massive/Main Ship? = CV?
SS = Small Ship? = SV?
GV = Ground Vehicle = HV

Remembering an abbreviation is much easier when you know what it means. Thanks!

I wish they'd fix it.
But MS works for me, I named the new partially built CV I spawned in MotherShip.
It's not that important. LV for "Large Vessel" would be a better moniker than CV, since only the most important ships in the fleet are truly capital vessels. Everything else is simply another warship, assuming it's not a freighter and similar civilian vessel.

Thank you guys!

One thing to mention, Britain had (has?) the standard to have their ships called HMS X, so that was the first thing to come to my mind :-)

I think they have different internal names than the CV/SV/HV we see is because English is not the Dev's native language.

I found the abbreviations obnoxious because they're quite inconsistent now with whatever naming convention they're going for. Before this update, you'd have HV = Hover Vessel, SV = Small Vessel, CV = Capital Vessel, and BA = Base. Now, half the time they use this older system, and the other half the time, they use their "new" system and so we're left with an inconsistent mess of what goes to what.

Yes, it's not too hard to figure out. It only threw me for probably half a second. But I see a lot of new gamers complaining about the building mechanics, and can only feel this inconsistent abbreviation system is only adding further discouragement to figure it out.

It's important when you waste your limited resources in the new start building the stuff for the wrong ship because the abbreviations are not consistent with what the community has been calling them all along.

the filters for building items still work from what I have seen. So I fail to see the issue.

MS SS GV have always been in the game config files for as long as I play (2700+ hours) so it's not smth new.

They will fix eventually, Taelyn said some local keys got left out.

Cool, that's great! I figured they'd probably fix it at some point, just wasn't sure what their plan was.

I see. Because you use the filters you see no problem with screwing over someone who doesn't.
What a freakin world this has become.

For the record it wasn't me. It was the person who introduced me to EGS and stopped playing for years that I'm trying to get back into playing.

Things like this make the game less player friendly. There are way too many things like this in the game.

It's October. Is this sort of schedule typical for fixes?
