How does underground Base blueprint work?
Underground base seems popular in higher difficulty, but I have to wonder. We have only seen base that is above surface, but how does it work if you want to prefab an underground base? Or there is no such thing and you have to build one manually? I notice some POI are partly buried into the ground, does this mean this kind of blueprint dont remove the terrain within the building itself when you prefab?

You can blueprint underground bases. You sink them into the ground when you spawn them.
I have a couple blueprinted that I made in creative. You do have to clear out the interior after spawning them.

Page up and page down buttons raise and lower the outline of the blueprint respectively.
Page down until you get it sufficiently underground and then click the mouse button to spawn it.

Ahh so you do have to do manual clean up after wards, well this is probably going to be a bit annoying to deal with if you have a large underground base.

i Suppose you could dig a big hole with a SV and then spawn you base into it and fill around it if necessary

I only ever built one underground base in the side of a mountain. I had to use an HV miner to clear out all the space, it was quite a lot of work, but you get plenty of crushed stone for concrete blocks in the process. :D

I always start off with an underground base built in the side of a mountain. The idea is to get some security early in the game. Because it is in the side of a mountain, every base is custom and are different so for me, it does not make sense to blueprint it. I dig it out as needed.

If the laser drill actually worked that way then: "laser tip piercing planetary ombardment shells. Or drill head rockets all on one side of an asteroid, then break the planet up with multiple space rocks until the pieces all are small enough for zero-G resource harvasting with a dead enemies bonus to sweeten the pot. (and yes killing is evil no matter the excuse Devs).

What I am obviously getting at is the proper way to survive in space is to be on the move at all times, the enemy has harder time longer range bombarding your fleets that refuel and supply from cracked up planets and asteroid belts. It's all in my "List of War Devices and Unit Types" in the ideas and suggestions forum, please check it out, for it is mostly accurate with little fantasy stemming from what little boot camp training I got from the U.S. Navy.
