I resorted to ground poi's since it was less frustrating, and with my health issues worked better for me. If you were in a rush could drill abandoned poi cores out with some SV railguns. Doubt it is 6 per hour but, easy enough to find them, and consistent. If you are playing on the ANVIL the appeal of this approach increases due to hamster cores.
Time taken from SV shield coming up to redocking SV.
Have recently found out something which greatly speeds up the Bunker. (And I still don't know the location of the core). I take out 9 external sentries and drill through 3 blocks with 65 shots from 3 plasma cannons. (The core is not touched by the plasma). There is zero risk and no enemies are encountered or need to be killed.
The Abandoned Reactor is quite a bit faster but only has 3 ultra rares.
However, as Niuq pointed out, the real time is in finding the next target. At least with the Abandoned POI's the ammo cost is much lower and material to make SV plasma ammo can also be found by opening some very rares.
