[RE] Repair to template not working?
I have saved the template before i engaged in combat, now i lost some blocks and want to repair it back but it only says "no backup available" and i cant start it, whats the use of the T2 repair bay if this feature is not working?

Also when i access the console it says "Area blocked. Template does not fit into available space" whatever this should mean

Some of the RE blocks aren't allowed for Repair to Template and I think it blocks saving the BP in it.

damn that sucks, hella annoying to have to replace blocks by hand every time
Vermillion May 18, 2022 @ 5:14pm
Typically if you have non-repairable blocks, it should simply not replace that missing block.
If you saved with a lock code on the template, that will usually interfere with the repair bay.

I had my Blueprints save fine when using RE blocks that are not aren't allowed for Repair to Template. And it gets repaired fine

Only issue is if those blocks get destroyed, then it will not replace those blocks. The repair just ignores them and repairs\replaces the rest.

The only catch is, if you do not 'save a repair template' before you need to repair.

When you repair something, it creates a box around it, if this is blocked, you get this message

Blocking can be caused by
(1) other ships docked to it (most common cause, do you have anything docked to it)
(2) Player too close
(3) other ships (including the thing with the repair bay, clipping into the repair area

Thats the repair area, no other ship in it, the repair area ist just a bit into the platform but thats not preventable since ships dont float if no one is on them so i cant keep it into the air

It looks like nothing is clipping into it (unless its missing blocks on the bottem which are clipping into the repair base)

(its why I always use space repair bases (and ones with the repair block floating way about the base, so it can not clip)

And there is no SV. HV or anything docked inside it? I can't see any reason clear reason why its not repairing, but the repair 'box' is yellow instead of green, so its not happy about something.

You could try setting it to auto repair and lift the CV off the base by a few blocks and if you are fast enough, it should start repairing before it 'auto' lands

nope, empty hangar

There is currently a malfunction for repair templates also in normal vanilla game: after some time a repair template doesn't work anymore, reason unknown, you must save it on regular fashion, best is to save after a repair is completed. My bug report about it is quite old, it's still 'investigated'.

seems like it was really that little part of the box being into the ground.
i spawned an orbital repair station now where it could float above the repair bay and there it was working fine.
thanks for that information.

Started having this problem today in RE. Tried three different advanced repair locations; one located in a space drydock, one at the top of a space base, and one located on a planet platform. All are workshop creations that I've not altered. All worked as of two days ago when I last did repairs.

Smells like it might be a continuation of the workshop connectivity issues then.

I have to have my CV hovering above repair block where repair area touches nothing but air. HUGE PITA
