Navigate here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Dedicated Server\Saves\Games\<SAVE NAME>

Look for gameoptions.yml

open it in a text editor and scroll down to the section where you can modify settings like player progression speed, food consumption rate, etc.

Add this line if it is not there: DiffPlayerBackpackDrop: DropNothing

If you want to keep toolbar items only use this variable: DropBagOnly

I added mine right below the DiffBpProdTime setting. But if gportal has a GUI for changing your server settings you might try adding it there.

You can also set the option in game if you are set up as an admin for the server.
Open the console and use the gopt command. I think it would look like this:

gopt set DiffPlayerBackpackDrop: DropNothing

A benefit of using the console command is you can change settings while the server is live.

IF you dont have sufficient privileges to use admin commands, you would need to set yourself up as one... If you had direct access to the computer hosting your server, you would add your steam ID number and set permission level to 9 in the adminconfig.yml.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with gportal... I have a physical machine that I host my server on. I bet there is a thread about setting up a gportal server somewhere in these forums...

Would it hurt for the OP to return and mark an answer as accepted?

Unless you have read the guide on how to edit the gameoptions.yaml, then no it's not possible, in much the way that a grand piano can play flight of the bumble bee, but not any pianist can play flight of the bumble bee. But I too, have modified the setting before, so I do know that it works.
