if you type "help aimanager" in the console you get some additional info, but it seems like the commands do not work.
I typed "aimanager adddronewave" and receive message saying Drone Wave spawned - but I've no waves ever spawn.
I tried "aimanager addvessel" this works but it spawns a drone base! I was hoping to spawn waves not an entirely new base.
"aimanager addtrooptransport" appears to do the same as the addvessel.
The rest of the commands do nothing
aimanager adddronewave
aimanager adddronewave NBDRONE
So the only thing I can do it seems is spawn entirely new drone bases for the players to take on.
I hope they develop some tools for the admins of servers to add / remove AI to their worlds. Even add custom blueprints that move about and fight.
I managed to create a CV in Creative mode with an Alien core, then create it on the Server, the ship just sat there but did shoot at me. Then I placed AI spawners on the inside - when my players attack the ship was empty but the spawners were still there. Bit disappointed about that.
I then followed someone's guide about putting a prefab design of a blueprint into the server directory and adding it to the YAMLof a planet that had not yet been generated so that when a player finally did go there the ship would spawn there. That didn't do anything either.
Would really like some better A.I and a means to create threats.
My players are too strong for this game and they'll become complacent if nothing can stop them (Game is far too easy and we have it on hard!) I need to rein them in a bit and show them their not the dominant force in the universe.
I'm just guessing here, but I don't think spawners will work on a ship. They should work just fine on a base though. I haven't played around with it at all though.
Did you just swap the core in creative and then spawn it in server? If so that's awesome. I had to manually destroy the core and then replace it in the server in previous versions of empyrion. Also I've found throwing in some mystery bases that have notes and lead them on a chase/mystery adventure, as well as giant blockades of those stagnant ships around planets to fight against.
We use it in SP for testing.
Yeah that's what I did and it worked but it didn't fly around patroling it just remained still until my players came to take it out. It put up a real fight and they enjoyed it alot, but it does need AI troops to spawn onboard and patrol around to really pimp up the fun. I hope they give us soime tools for this type of thing soon :)
If I was you i'd switch God mode on in survival mode and check to see if the Core is still Alien, you might already know but to locate parts of a ship open up the ships devices find the component your looking for an click highlight you can then find it real quick.
Also were the turrets on the ship alien turrets? you can't use the same one's used by player ships. It might be worth going around the ship and swapping them out.
If you are successful the downside is the ship will not move it just stays static until someone wishes to agro it.
However i've heard that there is a way to save the ship file and drop it into the "content/prefab folder in the game directory, if you do this you can then add it to a sectory yaml (the sector can't have been generated yet) easisest way would proibably be to replace the text of small alien frieghters on that Yaml with the name of your own ship. Then it will generate your ship instead of the freighter and it will actually fly around. I've not acheived this myself as all the sectors have been generated on my server and no one wants to wipe until 8.0.
Final thoughts make sure your ship has alien turrets I think this may be where you went wrong.
In the end, its you editing (or add) a yaml playfield file and there you add the alien cored cv to be spawned... either directly, immobile, or via the patrolling plattform if you want it to move around.
Either way, it must be 'spawned by the yaml' in order for the spawn plates to work.
This post is best intention but all AFAIK as i'm 'not there' yet.
That video in this forum that MR BMan posted I managed to get to work but i'd prefer to have some propper admin tools to spawn Ai as and when I need to.
I've posted about it on this forum and the games offical forum and i'm surprised at the lack of interest in the topic i would have thought every PVE Admin would be looking for it.
They mention AI Improvements in the road to 8.0 so fingers crossed something comes with that.
Does it only work if you start a new game? if thats the case , then for me its useless!
