how to find/get neodyium and etc? So I understand to get cobalt/titanium you fly to the moon. Yet these other ores are on distant planets. Yet to build the ships capable of warping there, I need the ores. So what am I missing? Ive been hitting pois with some luck of very minor quantities.

You don't need neodymium or titanium to warp to other planets in the same system. You can find more titanium and neodymium on some of the other planets, just warp there in your SV.

SVs can mount a warp drive without requiring Neodymium and be used to travel to other planets in the starting system that have Neodymium.
That is the intended progression of the game.

• Starting Planet (iron, copper, silicon, promethium)
  
• Starter moon (magnesium, cobalt, titanium, pentaxid)
  
• SV warp drive (made with cobalt+titanium)
  
• Desert/Barren planet (Neodymium, Sathium)
  
• CV + Warp Drive
  
• Barren Metal/Lava planet (Zascosium, Erestrum, Gold)

Salvage and POI loot allows you to fast-track progression, but is largely dependent on luck.

Go to the north pole and look for ice trolls or what ever they are called kill them and look to see what they have on them. They are quite rare to come across , but they carry rare ores on them. You can find cobalt in the same place as promethium , some of the ores you can trade for at the trading places which you should be able to fine on any planet.

And you can trade looted weapons at Sanctuary for ores as well.

I think you can now trade for every ore, in the starter system, if you know where to look. If I remember right you can buy cobalt and titanium ore from the ore guy in the first Talon village you visit, and neo in the Polaris station on the starter planet. Beyond that I'll let you find them for yourself.

Deconstruct crashed CVs. Engines especially are gold for getting all the things you need that aren't on the starter planet.

also, fly around in space... if you can find a Polaris mining facility.. on the landing pad is two robots that sell all the ore though in small quantities
