Where's the gold?

I have found all the ores, but can't seem to find any gold. Where would I find it?

Usually asteroids are the best source.

So I just haven't found one yet, eh? Ok, need matrix's and bridges but can't find the gold. :)

Snow planets have a lot of gold surface rocks near water. Or they used to anyway. Have not done a Snow Planet start in a while. And maybe that is just the Starter Snow Planet.

I didn't see it on the info panel for the snow planet. Spent some time there but didn't see any.

The info panel won't show what surface rocks might show up. You just have to go there and look.

Single player, vanilla game, survival game ?

Story mission helps a lot.
Trader : I remember that traders in Polaris Sanctuary on the start planet sell gold ingot and CPU part, and traders in Orbital Trade Station in the start planet sector sell gold ingot and CPU part.
Maybe some trader in other station will sell gold ore, I don't know.
POI and story mission : You can recycle Computer from some POI. (Ex: A big, horror and dangerous POI in the Barren planet sector of Ellyon.)
Other sector and other planet, deposit and asteroids.(Maybe you need to fly to other system)
I remember that there may be a deposit in the radiation area, but maybe I am wrong.

Can gold coins(Talon mission) be transformed to gold ingot ?

You can find gold surface rocks on Snow planets, but they are not common. If you want deposits you can find them on Lava, Barren Metal and Moon Forest planets. I am sure there are others. Just keep looking. This is Vanilla, BTW.

It's also perfectly reasonable to trade for optronics. Stations buy a wide variety of goods. A lot of them you can manufacture yourself, like small arms and decorative blocks. Others, you can buy cheap one place (including your faction discount), and sell them at another for a big profit. You can use the proceeds to buy bulk ores, ship supplies and repairs, food and medicine, even goods you can't make yourself like heavy armor and flamethrower fuel. Optronics may seem expensive, but they're just another commodity in Andromeda's Great Material River.

I have just found walking about you might find rocks that look like rocks.. yet they are gold and you can mine them using your tool.

Look for "Oasis" Biomes on Temperate Planets, on Snow Planets look near bodies of water, and on Ocean Planets look in "Kelp Forest" and other deep ocean biomes. You can find Gold Bearings for small bits of Gold. This is on top of a planet's possible Gold Deposits, and if you can find a planet/moon with Gold Meteorites that's great. Find a small moon with gold Metorites, mine the gold deposits but nothing else, and enjoy the gold deliveries.

Gold Asteroids too, yes, but you aren't that far yet.

You should also be able to "buy" either gold ore, gold ingots, or items with Gold components you can put in Deconstructor to get gold back.

You can find matrix's and bridges in Abandon POI's. Also the Xenu Fortress will give lots of those as well as other nice goodies.

Found it! :) lots and lots of it. :) Went to the first system in the Polaris territory and found a Barren Metal Planet.....lots and lots of Est, Sasc and gold. :)

I was trying not to just go buy everything. Last year when I played, I just went to the Sancuary, sold 1,000 assault guns and bought everything I needed. Game was over in 3 days. :) Didn't want to do that this time.
