emp admin helper won't connect after closing it

I dont know if its a bug or just crappy software to manage my gameserver, but the tool wont connect to the server anymore.

its the second time i encounter this problem. first yesterday, i started the admin helper, did the "setup wizard" and started the game via the included function "start". well, the icon on the right turned green, everything worked fine. i did a few changes in the game config, stopped the server and closed the tool. 5 minutes later i started the tool and the server. dedicated and playfields showed up in taskmgr, i can even connect to my server ingame, but the admin helper couldnt connect to the server anymore(red icon).
i downloaded the new admin helper version 1.39.0.4 and did this "setup wizard" again. it worked fine again.

same problem occured today. i stopped the server to do the update to buil version 1306, started the admin helper. server started, i can connect ingame, but the admin helper cant.

wth is wrong with this crap?
there is no denial from the firewall, not from antivirus, or anything else.
the logfiles are not really revealing some kind of errors.

the homepage of the tool unfortunately offers not enough info for configuration. the documentation is more like: this is a car, this is the wheel, there are four of them. thanks a lot, thats what a child could have told me...

do i have to reinstall the admin helper every time i close the tool? is this the way this tool works? one-way tool, once started you should not close it?

seriously, whatim doing wrong?
all ports i need are open, no AV, no FW, no other crap blocking.

Can anyone please help me with this problem?
and please...im an IT Engineer, so please dont ask me if i did a restart (i did about 100 times)

i have found something out myself. it only works if you let the API port on standard 12345. why is there even an option to change it if it doesnt work after closing the tool. lol
i think i will try it this way a few days
