My first CV is PB to, is a nice build and have enouth for the first steps to get the Minerals for the next (latest) Ships
Now that I've played several CoOP and MP games I use more workshop BPs than before.
It used to be fun to build them from scratch in game. But the game has changed so much since the start of v6.0.
Once I find I have a ship rather fit for its use, painted up and worked well, I'll blueprint it and will use it in a future game...maybe. Depends if game changes and new ideas don't spark a new design.
That said, I did make a minimalist SV ages ago, that has seen dozens of BP spawn...it's just too cute, cheap, fuel efficient and useful not to keep using.

Blueprints tend to be rather future-proof. Designs from 4.x still work now. It's (to some of us) one of the draws to this. Restarting isn't as bad when you can 'keep' some of your work.
They'd also be heavily of use for PvP people who have to replace their ships and not want to spend hours rebuilding it - instead just shove in parts and wait.
