I'm stuck in a hole.

I knew this would happen, I was digging for Ore and I don't know how to use my jetpack but whenever i press "J" it doesn't do anything.

"J" just turns your jetpack on or off there is an icon above your vital stats. When your jetpack is on use the SPACEBAR to raise up.

"U" is for your helmet for oxygen when needed.

TIP: Use your drone to drill

if you just started on a temperate planet and got no light suit you don't have a jetpack yet. either jump and dig yourself out, or use console and godmode command

T1 drill that can be a lot harder and tedious then you would think. LOL Been there done that. Had to kill myself and retrieve with the drone my stuff. Now I just do not go in the hole, just seems easier that way.

It's very easy to dig out ramps or steps.

I only play single player, no more tedious drilling.

Never timed it but i'd guess around 20-30 seconds

I've mined for hours and never been attacked. I thought maybe it went into some kind of time out while you were using the drone, but maybe I just got lucky.

I used to just set an HV to 3 meters hover height and stand on top of it while f5 drone mining. Tried setting turrets to attack prey, but they kept wasting ammo shooting at stuff they couldn't possibly hit. Too bad you cant set turrets to a target radius as well.
