Block names

How do we find and tally up block names in the game to the names in the config file? Mostly it's intuitive, but it's super time consuming to cross check each block. Or is that the only way to do it right now?

AFAIK there's no alternative, the best you can do is use the 'find' function in notepad++ to limited effect. Some things will be easy to find, others not so much. Some of the blocks also use others as templates which can make some attributes even more of a pain to track down.

Yeah, I will have to write some python scripting in that case, it's really hard to keep editing and then keep comparing diff of the changed config in an update too. I just don't have the time to make a listing , some people have tried in the past.
Not hard, just slow. I love tweaking.

I remember reading a while back something about a comparison tool, never looked into it though, it might be worth searching for. Would save you some time if one already exists.

Just had to update mine yesterday and totally agree, it's a pain comparing everything by eye; I found it quicker to just copy-paste entire entries and re-apply my changes. Still not quick enough though. I have no programming knowledge/experience so I'm stuck with doing it all manually.

Yep, tweaking has been half the fun of this game for me, just a shame so much of it's more laborious than it should be. Hopefully things will become more streamlined later on.
