Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Why are the details of the units so different.
To the developers. Why are the units for energy in the game so different? If I set the game to English it says watt and MW, kW etc .. I set it to German then it says kEE etc .. What is this nonsense? In Germany, a watt is exactly the same as in English. So when I look at an electrical device at home (real life) it says watts etc .. And not EE or kEE .. I think it's pretty stupid that it is so different ..

What are you talking about? This game has not used "Real" units of energy in a long time. They use an undefined unit of energy just called a Power Unit or PU. There are no W or kW in game. Just PU and kPU.
In the German version it is EE and kEE .. I then switched it to English and it said Watt.

Yeah no, the game uses watts/KW's.

German version of "Energy Unit" is "Energie Einheit" =EE and the k same as in en. :)
Translation oversights i guess.
That's exactly what I meant .. That is totally stupid .. That means watts and kW etc .. No idea what the developers are thinking .. Can somehow change that yourself? Without switching to English because my English is more than bad and learning English .. No ..

Hahaha, as much as I love(!) Empyrion, yes it's really stupid at times. ^^

I bump this because I think that there is a translation "file" somewhere that might be able to change it. Just need to grab the attention of the ppl who know.

No, in English it uses PU. You have a bug somewhere. The game stopped using watts back in Alpha.
You should report this issue on the official forums. File a bug report.

EE is the undefined power unit they use in German. They switched to PU in English a long time ago. If you are still seeing Watts then you have a bug.

\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Extras\Localization.csv

Here is the location of the file that stores translation strings. If you make changes to this file they will be lost on most game updates.

\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Scenarios\Scenario Name\Extras\Localization.csv

This is where you put it to 'overwrite' it in a scenario. You can use notepad to edit it, but since it is a csv excel or something should work as well. Don't use 'rich' text editors that do not support csv. When the game updates and makes changes to the original file you will have to update this one yourself.

Also, your English seem fine.
My English comes from google translate;)
