question about block weight
is there any difference in weight between steel blocks and armored steel blocks? and if so, will it in any way affect the over all speed of my vessels?

all added weight affects your thruster power, and yes Combat Steel is heavier.

Go into creative mode and experiment. Start small, fly around. Add some stuff, fly around. You'll be amazed at the things you discover.

ah, oki. well, reason I'm asking is cause I recently replaced all the blocks on my small vessel with hardened steel.

Mass affects your thrust power, more mass means you need more thrust to move it. A useful screen for judging whether you have the amount of thrust you want is the info screen in the control panel of your vehicle (press P when looking at it, then a small i button will be towards the bottom right of the window that pops up)

Since all max speeds are fixed right now, (~40 in atmo, ~100 in space) the amount of thrust you want is based on how fast you want to hit that max speed, and the info page tells you how fast you accelerate in any direction in m/s². You may also need another RCS or two, depending on the amount of mass you added
