Hi,
I changed it to E. E makes more sense to me as that is the button in most other games I play. The trouble I have is with the shift key. It would be better for me if it was only one key.
I always change inventory to Tab.
That I don't know about. Since it's a key combo/modifier you may need a macro and you set the macro to be activated by a single key. I remember having macros before gaming mouses with a bunch of buttons but don't remember how we did them.
You could try it in the key bindings. It will either tell you that you can't do it or it won't work, it's an easy one to remember to set it back.
I couldn't find a way in the games keybindings and I don't know how to create macros, but I did buy a mouse with more buttons yesterday.
It's the left shift modifier at the bottom of the list and since it's a modifier that's why I think that might need to remain a key combo.
I can say binding the macro to a mouse button does work. Surely if my cheap 9 button Rosewill has a macro editor yours will too. I think it's pretty standard with gaming mouses.
I didn't buy a very expensive one, but i'll experiment when it arrives tomorrow or Friday
Well I'm not going to hold my breath. I believe mine was $15 before it was on sale
Now go into keybindings and set a secondary control for "shift modifier" to that unused key on your keyboard.
Now navigate to the "open/use" keybind.
Set a secondary keybind for "open/use" to the same keybind you set for the secondary on "shift modifier"
When the popup comes up warning you that the keybind is already used by "shift modifier" click the ADD button so it keeps both set to the same button.
Congratulations!
Now when you press that secondary key you assigned to both it will do "shift modifier" and "open/use" at the same exact time, thus allowing you to loot all with a single button press.
Not only that, but since you left the original keybinds the same, the normal buttons work as they should too.
Hope this helps you. You don't even need a macro.
Interesting, I'll definitely be trying this
Doesn't that make every F push a shift+F? So when you try to look in a auto-miner to get the ore or water generator you pick it up?
The primary keybinds still work as normal.
That's why I said to find an unused key and set that key to the secondaries.
When I did this I removed the Z key for drop item (no one needs a keybind for that when we can already do that in inventory).
I then used Z for the secondaries since it was an unused key then.
So all I had to do was press Z to loot all.
Shift and F still worked as normal because those are the primary keybinds and we aren't touching the primaries......
I can confirm that this worked excellently. I assigned it to the fifth button on my new mouse. It is now much easier for me.
Yep, I do have to be careful about which buttons I change as it seems to break them
