Hell Worlds :O
Pretty hellish for a hell world! Its got a lot of goodies. But its HOT. Damn hot. Fry an egg and bacon then burn them to a crisp hot. Hot enough even the sun doesnt want to get close hot. So hot even your mama aint that hot kind of hot!

I'd LOVE to explore about here, but how do I survive long enough in RFE to manage the cool stuff over the lakes, without cheats? Am I on an end game world with early mid game gear? What would I need?

Yah I may just stick to missions lol :P

Did a lvl5 Abandoned Bunker in the Hell World.

I will NEVER do another Bunker again in RFE at least till I have all end game gear. The absolute dump of ammo, armor wear, food and ALL my meds used, all for 2 epic guns and some platinum in one ultra rare in the top room with the turret, was NOT worth the suffering.

So Grogez, not only have you convinced me to go back to missions, RFE has convinced me to no longer bother with at least the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Bunker. The spawn spams were bad as hell but liveable. The spam of spawns around you and at your back absolutely crushing you at every turn was worse. This is way over tuned.

I thought Vermillion said he eased the spawns since Spanj ran it. He did not :P

So, here are a few other things you could try:
- find, earn or buy and hand in all 50 navigational data so that your range with any advanced warp drive is maxed at 160LY.
- find an enhanced laser drill. Only found in ultra rare loot containers. Needed to make a voidium drill which are essential to most easily make things like anti-matter warp drives and progenitor shields.
- find advanced heavy armor. One is given as a reward otherwise only found in ultra rares. Better than heavy armor and needed to make augmented light armor.
- find durable EPIC heavy armor. Only found in ultra rares. Just really good armor. Handy to have when visiting places like Hell planets.
- find out about planets in the start systems. Get the survey mission from each UCH captain in the start systems.
- find out about stars in the galaxy. Do the galaxy survey missions. Culminates with the exotic survey and finding the super massive black hole at the center of the galaxy. 7 navigational data reward.
- visit a desert oasis planet. There is a fun poi there.
- do the 'lost' poi's on black desert planets. Some of these are excellent.
- get to the decay star cluster. The only advanced core in the game is there.
- beat your head against the wall a few times with The Dead Part 2...
- find RTG's - only found in ultra rares. Lower the energy consumption of a ship by 2kW with each one installed.
- visit a UCH ship every 3 hours. Activate the research mission and get 250 unlock points from the research computer.
- pick out a decent battleship and maybe start thinking about acquiring it.
- visit a Xenu fortress on a barren metal planet. Chance to acquire a quantum extender so don't expect easy. These planets have a lot of AA poi's with heavy turrets you can deconstruct to provide large system upgrade kits.
- find the Abyssal Zirax on plasma planets to get entropic plasma cells to make progenitor shields. Again, far from easy.

And the list goes on...

All right! THATS a good guide where to go. I know nothing about RFE prior to this first serious dive, and its WAY harder than vanilla lol.

My whining is just about the struggle. So far this is way engrossing, and so much broader, it can be confusing. This will be a good series of goalposts to look for.

Hell planets? Just keep going from K class star to K class star. Maybe one in ten or one in twenty. But with those odds it's easy to be unlucky. In system maps they are almost the same color as lava planets and crusty lavas.

And are you playing Reforged Eden?

Grogez, how on earth do I repair a ship with heavy turrets on it?

Repair bay says ship type cant be repaired, and I got 2 heavy turrets. Do I just remove them and stick them back on after? Or, is my destroyer only to be repaired by hand now? Got hit with a HUGE swarm of symbiotes earlier and a bandit/pirate CV attack, and beat them all, but I am kind of beat up, and now i cant repair lol :P
grogez Sep 10, 2021 @ 11:18am
Never had a problem with them like that.

Google "Empyrion ship type cant be repaired" ->

- Is the repair bay on a totally flat surface with no (even slightly) higher surrounding blocks?

- is the ship in contact with this surface and not floating above it?

Darn I forgot this issue: Its on my carrier CV and I am trying to repair my destroyer.

I forgot I probably need a base for this. Until now I had never tried to repair a CV with a CV repair bay. But the flaks are still up. Perhaps they got in the way.
grogez Sep 10, 2021 @ 9:02pm
No, you need a base to repair a CV. If you look at the properties of a CV repair bay in the devices page of the control panel, you should see that repairs are limited to SV/HV.

And if your heavy turrets have been completely destroyed you will probably have to make them again from scratch.
