Empyrion - Galactic Survival

Rep with POL, Zirax and Colonists
I know I can turn off Zirax drone raids in the game settings. But I used to be able to shoot trees in Zirax territory to gain rep with them, and once I was Neutral, the Zirax were cool with me flying around and mining away. I could even take walking tours of their facilities.

But Eleon has nerfed things so the only way to gain rep with the Zirax is shooting prey animals on their turf. This takes forever. Or by killing POL. I don't want to do that either, for obvious reasons.

Does anyone have any great ideas (besides the console) on how to gain rep with Zirax without losing rep to everyone else? I'm really not into shoot-em-ups, I prefer the exploration, gathering and building aspects of the game, but I also prefer to not 'cheat'. Shooting Zirax trees was the perfect in-game workaround. Looking for other great workaround ideas to keep my rep neutral or better all around the galaxy.

Also, how does one gain rep with the colonists? I can't use their teleporters without more rep, but nothing in their list increases rep.

You also gain rep for killing Predators too in their territory, just not as much as killing Prey.

You can fight with the Pirates? Find a Pirate asteroid base and mine some of it, and watch your Zirax rep skyrocket. You aren't shooting or harming Pirates, but I guess you' don't wanna lose any Rep with anyone.

Prey/Predator rampage seems to be your best bet, if you are playing SP "sleep" for 8 hours to speed up mob regeneration.

The Rep system IMO is bugged, with flawed logic that is inconsistent, and needs fixing.

easiest way to get zirax faction i found in this playthrough was killing and looting everything but zirax and pirates. i kept my pirate faction up also so had two factions to sell and buy from. but is a route most would not want to take. but i've turned traitor to my honored zirax faction rating, and now a lot of other factions, except colonist are going up... polaris especially jumped fast and bof...

I've tried so many times to align myself with the Zirax scumbags but it just feels so....wrong. I can't bring myself to do it lol.

I had to kill preys and predators to gain rep with Polaris, I took a HV with plenty of miniguns, set these up correctly in the device list, and my job to go from neutral-friendly has taken about 20 minutes game time. I guess you can do the same with the zyrax.

I kept the Zirax on board by staying out of their territory whilst Hostile, slotting predators by hit-and run with a SV in their territory whilst Unfriendly and completing their missions to Friendly status. I've then had the luxury of watching them defend me against predators whenever I've been surprised in their territory, or ambushed by other factions whilst mining in space. There's nothing quite like the sight of a Zirax cruiser appearing out of nowhere and getting stuck in to the enemy when a hostile attack ship hoves into view and starts laying into to you. Even Polaris won't come to your rescue at that point.

Especially if you want to attack the POIs it's a good idea to get neutral so you can spy out the places before you attack them. Information is power.
Too bad I can't do this with some high-level cruisers in space :)

Srly, i cored a undamaged tovara by cheating cuz i wanted to look it over, and ofc have my own to play with. the author did such a great job with the ship interiors, and the inside is amazing. something you won't get to see after you turn it into swiss cheese and it's all ruined... probably a lot of neat and amazingly well done ships out there won't normally get to see...

Most of them should be in a special game folder, I think it's the Content\prefabs. If you create a folder e.g. tovara in your blueprint folder saves\xxxxxx\Bluprints and then copy the *.epb file from the prefabs inside, the Tovara blueprint should appear in-game in your blueprint menu F2. Same with other ships or POIs in the game.

I think that's also the only way to take a look inside these ships with all the intact interior decors but without the crew obviously. Currently you cannot simply enter these ships in space (provided you are friendly or neutral) without falling through them because they keep moving, the save/reload trick after you go inside with god mode doesn't work anymore I think, the ship will leave you behind in open space, but I need to check it again.

I was honored status with zirax so i put my ship in cruise control behind it with di enabled, it and replaced the core with a player core with console command. doesn't work unless in close render range, so followed it. entered into god mode and place my cv in front of the torvara slow it down for moment and when it came i entered into and released god mode. ship tries to patrol, and enemies ignored me inside because of my honored status. hit alt+o and had a blueprint of the tovara in pristine untouched condition.

when spawn it in say creative all the spawn-er pads are present for zirax, and you have full control of it in mint condition, spawning it in survival it is functional but needed the alien turrents removed they will not work at all, no ammo for them the ones in creative menu don't work. alien turrents must be scripted with ammo, needs bit of work is designed to fly like an arrow and has lot of base components need replace with cv ones...

edit: tried it out in my survival to see how it performs with standard equipment. still over powered lol sorry OP for the hijack... :/

it's unlisted as isn't my work, just cored and made bp.

Never seen Zirax attack predator or prey.

If you fire on monsters and you're sufficiently far away they attack the nearest live unit, be it monster or squad, and when monsters do go after you and there's a Zirax squad in range vicinity, the squad will fire on said monsters. On several occasions I've been chased by raptors in their territory only to have a squad start firing on them, but only when I'm friendly or better in status.

Funnily enough I saw this happen first time early this morning.

Zirax Rocket and Mech Walker opening fire on a Legacy Infected Assassin. It was between 2 squads, and in the cross fire a Mech Walker died on the Zirax side. Interesting to watch.

It doesn't happen very often on planets, but it's fun to watch when it does occur and such action has saved me on several occasions.

A few weeks ago after the 1.61 update I found myself sneaking around a local system in a small but fast SV populated by mostly neutral faction craft with a sprinkling of hostile ones. I was rushed by a Warlord faction light cruiser and chased as I fled towards a nearby Friendly Polaris Gas Refinery, whereupon the Warlord ship began to fire on the refinery. Needless to say that Polaris responded by sending in a frigate that resulted in a rapid escalation, and within a minute no less than five factions had joined in and started upon one another until the Warlord ship began firing on all of them, at which point they all launched small craft and cooperatively chased the Warlord vessel away, refraining from firing when the enemy had been driven off. I was both stunned and pleased at such an action, and took some screenshots. My hat off to Eleon for their efforts in adding inter-faction warfare to the game.
