Hover Engine vs. Ground Repulsor Engine
I though Hover Engine is a better version of Ground Repulsor Engine. I removed firstly 2 engines (HE instead GRE), was working fine, then next 2 engines. After this (4x Hover Engine), my HV do not move...

Do these engines have different tasks

for the Hover engine to work you need to place RCS units. The repulsor engine is a basic hover engine for lights vehicles and cant lift much but has the rcs included

also needed for advanced hover engines thruster for forward, backward, left and right

My HV has 4 hover engines, 4 rearward facing trusters, 2 forward facing thrusters, 2 left facing thrusters and 2 right facing thrusters producing 47 m/s forward, 24 m/s back and 16 m/s sideways, NO RCS at all but still has 37 Pitch, 54 Yaw and 25 Roll. It turns very easily.

The trick is the placement of thrusters and hover engines and balancing the vessel.

You do need the thrusters to move the HV when using hover engines but not with ground repulsor engines, RCS are only needed for off balance builds.

Where could I find those stats?

face your vessel and press the P key then select the tab to the far right.

for turning place your thrusters at the corners left and right Yaw, front and back outer ends for Pitch and far left and far right for roll. Thrusters in other places make a difference too but it's a compromise of each to get the best setup. Basically as far from the centre of mass as possible for best results.

There is more to it than just that but that's the basic idea, experiment and see.

My HV will climb trees and then hover over the tops.

HaHa, I love those, hate when they get stuck on small trees though.

My HV (4x HE):
00 m/s Forward, 00 m/s Backward, 00 m/s sideways, UP 15 m/s. Pitch 96, Yaw 79, Roll 138.

My HV 2+2:
13 m/s Forward, 13 m/s Backward, 13 m/s sideways, UP 18 m/s. Pitch 105, Yaw 88, Roll 158.

My HV (4x GRE):
35 m/s Forward, 35 m/s Backward, 35 m/s sideways, UP 24 m/s. Pitch 111, Yaw 94, Roll 169.

Looks like Hover Engines are much worst.

You need to turn on the thrusters to get the speed since the hover engines are not what moves the vessel.

So what do they do? They got same desription as Ground Repulsor Engine, however cannot see any profits.

The added weight of each new part also drops the stats which is why the vessel needs to have the parts in the best place and be balanced to get the most out of them.

My HV miner/harvester is only small, has everything it can possibly have with lots of storage and fits the restrictions of the game for Mass, blocks and CPU. It outperforms my bigger version which has the same equipment but wasn't built to meet the restrictions.

I just placed things differently and balanced it better.

Your hover engines and thrusters don't seem to be better than the ground repulsors because the ship isn't balanced or they are not placed for best use.

Actually my miner doesn't have a shield.

The ground repulsors only raise you 1.5m and the hover engines will do 3m. Easier to navigate rough terrain.

Are you using the damaged hover bike and what are you trying to do with what you are building?
