EasyAntiCheat , as used in EGS
Try disabling it and then launch game (multiplayer games will be unavailable to you)
https://empyriononline.com/threads/eac.50051/
Keyboards, motherboards and headsets can have supporting applications that trigger EAC.
Sounds like something changed and messed up the system.
Try what zaphodkus suggested, and if it works, maybe re-install EAC might fix it.
You could try a file verification also.
So I did a bit of EAC reading and come up with this, these are posts by others that have had this specific issue.
What is probably happening is your game is crashing for some reason, but easyanticheat see's that crash, sees the disparity, and gives you 'security violation' while closing the rest of the program, including error messages. Basically EAC sees error messages as abnormal behaviour and blocks them, at least as I understand it.
Example, game closed in a way that didn't let it send a message to easy anti cheat that it should have closed...
From EAC devs themselves,
The error is sometimes caused by "SelLedV2.exe" running on your system. The process is used by RGB Fusion tool from GIGABYTE, which is not related to Windows.
We recommend uninstalling the software and running a full-system scan for potential virus or rootkit infections.”
End quote *
So ANY program doing that with RGB is likely to have this issue.
Gigabyte motherboards seem effected the most by this from my reading, it does not seem to be detrimental to turn off RGB to play and turn back on after, can control things like the colour of your leds in your PC case etc.
Gigabyte implemented it weirdly and its access to the registry.
So this may sound stupid but this is how I got it to work.
-Close browsers (frees ram)
-Use razer cortex (pls sponsor)
-Do not open through desktop apex legends icon (go to origin and make sure you only open it once)
-Double check task manager to see if there is a hidden apexlegends.exe or something along those lines that is running in the backround
Hope it helps.
And happy gaming :-)
Big news. It's almost like any game that has EAC loses HUGE chunks of their players instantly, and then dies within a year or so.
Just look at Fall Guys.
S1: "BIGGEST GAME EVER!"
S2 with EAC: Over 90% of the players are gone. MM now takes up to a MINUTE instead of finding other players withing like... A SECOND.
Please read, the "Question" posted by the OP was resolved.
So dude, your wrong, that example you give is not fact for every game its used in.
No cheat system is perfect, Punkbuster etc, all the same, but it knocks out the learner hackers and wanna be hackers really well, so before you jump on forums just to troll a game or the fact it uses EAC, at least learn the facts about its relationship to that game or you look silly.
EAC literally fixed our MP overnight in Empyrion. From a constant player bleed to zip.
Not playing a game because it tries to stop cheaters, yea that doesnt sound suss does it, running hacks maybe ?
Regardless of what one it is, be it punkbuster or EAC or whatever that excuse is really pathetic.
Its no different to whatever anti virus you run, they all do similar things, omg shock horror cant have that ! DELETE EVERYTHING ! Slap that foil hat on bro.
Or you could, you know, be normal and just play the game if you like it, regardless of what anti cheat system it has, but you know, thats just me thinking logically......
