Empyrion is closer to 7dtd than to NMS. And 7dtd is closer to Empyrion than to State of Decay.
(they even share same "unity related" bugs)
Sooooo often I can see Empyrion and 7dtd together in peoples profiles.
Well, my wish list is A LOT longer, so I will leave here only one small thing - give us "Take all" button.
Where are my space zombies!?
Yes, how about a 7DtD-esque feature of base defense for solo players?
I did one back when I played, it was really fun - kinda funny, in that I was the only person present in the event who wasn't in a specific clan.
You are such a tease.
Apart the voxel deal off course...
Well, I believe there is enough criticism out there, so saying something nice, which I believe to be true, is not inappropriate...
Primarily survival/building/crafting.
Base defense isn't really comparable as others have noted.
If you've built anything extensive in 7D2D you'll probably get a little frustrated with EGS since terrain is voxel generated but you don't remove blocks when you excavate.
Which makes it hard to place player created blocks since they won't interface cleanly with terrain blocks.
Despite that there's a lot under the hood to respect in this game.
There's plenty I don't like about the game, sure, but man what they got right they *nailed* it...I really hope more people notice this game and it gets the polish I'm hoping for.
I second that completely. Empyrion has its flaws, yes, but it opens a universe of possibilities that is as of yet unmatched (besides 7DtD or, of course, Minecraft). The Lego analogy is true, too. I loved Lego Technics as a boy, and now I can have that - and explore another galaxy! ...
... Wheee! :-D
Not being a naysayer, but considering how the AI functions I'd say we do have our "zombies".
This game with it's flaws however has proven very addictive for me. Time played per day rivals my Kenshi time played per day, and that's a bit embarrassing to speak of.
Once made it to space, after great struggles and many explosions, then built myself a base into an asteroid... absolutely epic! But then I realised: That's it. Sure could have tried to reach another planet but that's just another empty rock with nothing to do.
The game needs MUCH more wildlife, vegetation, factions.... but that's not gonna happen.
The building in Empyrion is a little less intriaciate than SE's but the world is so much more alive.
Btw, I like 7D2D, too :)
Great world and more survival focused but the building is a bit lacking, imo.
Empyrion hits the sweetspot.
