what's the best way to destroy the POIs turrets?
Seems like the guns on my CV won't even shoot at them, and my SV doesn't deal enough damage before I get blown off.

SV with a lot of thrusters all over so you can bounce fast and a bunch of rocket launchers on it...

Dig a tunnel to the POI, use your drill to create a barrier and shoot them until they blow up. If a shield is present then use a missile launcher.

2 salvos by 2x rocket launchers on SV.
or : spawn in the POI you want to loot in creative. go to god mode, find the core, remember its location. In survival, blast a hole into the wall closest to the core (with SV rocket launchers).
destroy the core, place your own core. Easy mode looting now. you can even loot using F4 (logistics), transfer the loot without even walking around (except rare loot containers) and of course, dismantle the POI if you wish. my favorite POI is the LGC abandonded bunker, has the core close the back wall, where no turrets will shot you.
Its a very big one, with tons of cargo containers, and lot of rare and very rare loot containers

CV loaded with projectile turrets, decent thrusters, and a shield works for me. You aim the ship at the target an roll to one side, making it a lot harder for enemy turrets to track you. Hovering over a POI and aiming down usually works, but you need to have enough braking thrust to support the mass of your entire CV.

Larger CV weapons can't be used on planet playfields. Yet.

Is that the "spin to win" strategy? I always thought when I read it, or assumed I guess, that it meant circle strafing around the target.

Genius about creative and core location :)

Yep. Also works as a defensive maneuver. When space drones go after your slow miner, you roll to one side and hit forward/up. You can use the resulting corkscrew to escape to a planet or asteroid field. I've had plenty of SVs get away doing this. Mostly. Enough of the ship to warp away, at least.

Cv´s use only Projectile Turrets in orbit

* Dig to the base you want to attack
* Make a Tank HV (no own experience)
* Make a sturdy but very agile SV you can avoid most enemy fire
* Make a extreme small SV with guns on the roof you can shoot "arround" corners and move from death corner to death corner

* make Zirax friendly
* Ignore/Avoid Zirax

CV's projectile turrets work in atmosphere. It's the lasers and plasma that only work in space.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. It still looks like you are saying projectile turrets only work in orbit.

Don't destroy them. A lot of bases can be bum rushed and you can get inside if you use an expendable small ship. Just have another small ship in your factory ready to go. Some bases you can fly in quick and land on the roof. Others there maybe a blind side.

You can also just burrow under the base and either look for a fragile square to destroy or use placed charges and blow a hole through the floor. Places like the drone factory have a grow plot underneath that is 20 hit points and that happens to be real close to the base cube.

Turrets are good scrap so it worth scrapping them.

SV side to side.
Fast agile SV.
Front armour.
Hills help to hide behind.
