You can also follow the Object 82 mission line for a good amount of data chips.
There was a tutorial beacon at the original station, but again, I had no idea how to access it/what to do with it. I've tried to google the hell out of this, but ... well I can't find squat.
Can someone enlighten me? If you miss the tutorial, it seems you're kinda screwed on this subject... And given the tutorial is a beacon without any immediate hint on how to activate it.... Yeah.
Also, didn't have a space suit for the original warp to the space station/whatever bit, so maybe I was supposed to be out in the cold? You die pretty fast wandering space without a suit that can do beyond ~-30c after all....
There's several types of data caches. Some have directions on an LCD screen. Some you have to figure out how to open on your own. They are puzzles.
The tutorial data cache doesn't explain anything more than this so you didn't miss out.
Ah ok, must have been spelled out up close, which I couldn't read without an EVA booster on my suit. Thanks for the heads up, the ones I found, first 3 were just POI's with no obvious way to interact (two kept shooting whenever I got close, one was just a giant solar sat, with nothing beyond panels/lights from what I could spot). I ran into one with a LCD screen and instructions after that, much more meaningful/helpful.
By default you only need 100tb of data, but on servers they can set this different.
I've opened 3 of the 4 "doors" at object 82. Have gotten about 70 terabytes of data gathered for the UHC and have completed quite a few other quests along the way. I really like finding the oddball planets scattered all over the place, some of them have some crazy hard Zirax factions to deal with along with some drones from hell...nasty. Great Job Ravien_ff, if I was computer literate, I would love to help out. I've just been getting busier living my real life, gets in the way quite often, lol. Happy gaming everyone : )
Prepare for a bit of warping (and not in straight lines either) - I took my time and used the travel distance to explore different planets and stuff - took me 3 weeks to get everything unlocked.
80 + 20 not 60 + 40.
But on servers they can change it so you need 9 keys between all the players.
