People complain about Fallout 4 / 76 for THEIR awful bugs.
I know this because I was alive to play the first fallout when it launched. So your "young kids" example is demonstrably incorrect.
I still do not understand this attitude.
Why would you want a game to be finished when it is still improving and a lot more can be done to make the game better?
If you want to consider the game finished then stop getting updates and stick with this version while the rest of us enjoy the improvements and additions to content.
I think certain types of games, like MMO's and Free to Play games, can be expected to be Ever-Evolving titles.
If that was a rule for all games, the whole industry would suck and no one would ever have to produce a finished game, which is an era we're walking right into letting people keep taking money for developing a lacking title.
7 Days to Die is by far the best example of that.
World of warcraft was in development before warcraft 3's expansion, if not earlier.
Planetside Next was in development for years before it was even officially announced.
Star citizen might be a scam, but it still counts as a game in development.
Overwatch was in development for like 6 years or something as Project Titan.
But sure discount some of my examples as "tiny drops in the bucket" even though most of them are well known highly popular titles by AAA companies.
And again what does age have to do with it?
Not at all.
You cant just call someone a troll because you dont agree with them.
Pretty sure I have over 400 hours on Empyrion....Sssooooo....
Who's a troll? Not me = Highly experienced guy, here :) Like it or not
SOOOO good on paper.
Literally a Face Painted on a piece of plywood could develop better games than The Fun Pimps. Those developers are utter losers, and liars, as well.
The Fun Pimps are the most dispicable game developers I've ever seen. Luckily the guys behind this title aren't nearly as bad. But omg....
This is what age has to do with gamers looking at long dev cycles thinking its par for course: You're not aware of how some adults are using the Early Access system as a means to simply pay their living expenses while they slowly develop a game.
Young people have absolutely zero concept of "rent" and bills and money in general. That's why they never mind the ethics behind indy developers taking FOREVER to finalize a game. I don't personally think younger people have a grasp on the finance side of things therefore they are terrible critics of a games dev cycle/length.
There. It's not that all young people don't know jack. It's that they don't know jack about money.
At all.
Look at the game DEAD MATTER right now. They were supposed to release this summer....they're now saying Spring 2020.
When you continue to take money after you've laid out a roadmap for a game and you're utterly terribly slow about getting there, that's the ethics part.
Top studios that take years to finish are taking years to complete their project for much......much...different reasons, kiddos.
