Food planters?

Do we have a way to grow food, just got my first CV in survival, I cant find planters in the tech tree

Get the grow lights, the "planters" are a construction option from (I think) large constructors.

You have to use Steel Grow Plots in CV's. They are under the Blocks tab.

Large Constructor can make concrete and wood grow plots, steel can only be fabricated in an Advanced Constructor.

You can loot seeds or buy them from merchants. I recommend the Talon one in the early quest line but he doesn't have them all iirc, whereas the Polaris one at the greenhouse has all of them as far as I know. You need Friendly or better standing with its faction to buy from a merchant, which is why I recommend the Talon one because you get that (the standing) so easily.

You can also buy the steel grow plots from the traders, or you can find a lot by looting the wrecked and derelict capital ships.

Another method is to build the CV in creative and then spawn it from the factory in survival, you only have to put the materials in first.

for blueprints, growplots are a single item like the optronics, you have to craft them first to put in the factory as well

I tried that, but because I'm still learning I didnt know what I needed.
I'm repairing the destoyed ship from the polaris minefield. it looks pretty cool, even more so as its not a great repair, so it looks really worn and used.
