Friend Can't Join Server (App Error)

One of my friends are trying to join my server and every time he tries to join he always gets the "Connection to Server failed not running the app" if anyone could help us with this it would be geatly appreciated.

I've noticed that the client updated to 7.5.1 1420 but, the dedi server is only 7.5.1 1390. I think the difference is the issue.

If thats true then will probley just need to wait until it gets updated

If It says "app not running" it's probably because he isn't running the anti cheat program that most player run servers and official servers on this game require. Tell him to reopen the game but before reopening he needs to open it with the anti cheat. That should allow him to join your game.

It did't work, still saying "error not running the app" we tried turning off the EAC on the server and having it on, he tried to join those times and it still said that error

the only other thing i can think of is that one of you is on the experimental version while the other is on the live version, otherwise it should be working. Sorry I wasn't of much help.

Its ok at least you tried, thanks for the info you gave me, also how would someone switch to the live version when they are on the experimental one and vice versa

Has anyone fixed this issue? Bumping because I'm having the exact same issue connecting to my boyfriend's server. Same version, and I made sure I had EAC installed and enabled. I'm at a loss here.

Started happening to me just today. First message was something about not running the Easy Anti-Cheat program, but I have changed nothing. Verified the files in Steam and now it says "Cannot connect: Not running app".

Pretty sure this is server related. I can join other servers fine, just not my own.

^May sound *really* stupid, but my boyfriend and I resolved our connection problem by simply having me put in the correct local IP. You could try direct-connecting with either your IP Address listed on whatismyip.com, or using ipconfig and connecting to either your host machine's IPv4 address (the solution for me), or your Default Gateway.

Other than that seemingly obvious stuff, just make sure you have EAC installed, and you should be okay. It's worth noting that you might have to drag and drop the EAC application to your desktop in order to get it to install right; I couldn't get it to install from my slaved SSD.

I found my issue with the "app not installed" message was actually due to the config becoming misformatted, possibly by using an editor like WordPad by mistake. Make sure to use something like Notepad ++ and not use any tabs.

For anyone reading this discussion.
My friend had this problem too yesterday. (By now we've put in 8 hours together. Lots of fun!)

So I was running the server. I did all the forwarding and any other steps you might have to take.

Nice guy. Doesnt however fix the "App" problem or show you how to forward (apart from Fr!tz boxes).

So I had the server running and I could enter myself (using local IP). My friend couldnt connect with any IP I gave him nor did the Steam invite work.
He then asked for one of my Hamachi networks so he could join. As soon he was in one, he was able to join the server. (mind you its still a forwarded one, just hamachi wont work). Apparantly its some connection issue (atleast thats what it looks like to me) and that gets resolved through another connection such as Hamachi. My guess is that Tunngle would work too.

Before he suggested Hamachi, I did however think it might be in my firewall. So I wanted to check that out but then he solved it already. (If anyone is going to try please confirm.)

TL;DR

Have a port forwarded server? Good
Can enter yourself? Good
Friend cant? Bad
-> Get yourself another connection Hamachi (we did that) or Tunngle.
This worked for us.

Realjsh010 That almost sounds like my issue, but I can join, and my friend (the host) cannot. We've done the obvious stuff, ran with and without eac, verified files, etc. But haven't tried using something like Hamachi. Suppose it'd work the same? I'm definitely going to give it a shot. I only bought this game to play with my friends, so now that I'm unable too, it's literally a waste.

So for you the host can't connnect? Odd.
What IP is he using?
If hes using the same as yours,
tell him to use "127.0.0.1"

2 Very big updates just came out. Game devs are really pushing content out as well as they can. They should honestly remove the game out of early access.
