So, I can only get oxygen from O2/H2O condenser?

Just checking, because a lot of old information says to use an O2 generator and I can't find it anywhere in the tech tree.

Also, seems kinda daft if that's the case. I mean.. we have the ability to make oxygen from water right now, let alone when with space faring tech.

You can gwt it from ice (either asteroids or snow planet mining( or from a water genny.

Or buy it at a trader...

Or syphon from o2 tanks of derelect ships, abandoned buildings and pois

How do you get it from ice? I'm not seeing anything on the tech tree about it, just that condenser.

Do I plonk that down on the ice?

You're not looking in the right place. Water generators are made in constructors and they are to be placed in water. Throw some fuel in there and over time you will get water containers that you use to make oxygen tanks. You don't have to unlock them in the tech tree.

That is correct. The purified water you use to make the emergency O2 bottles comes from the portable O2/H2O generator. That gives you the small O2 bottles and the purified water bottles.

I got tons of ice on the snow starter, Jine? but before I got around to crafting oxy or water? from it A12 stable jumped off. For future reference, what and how do we do with the ice? It makes water or oxy? In a constructor? ps Ima going to play snow start again one day;)

Gotcha. Still seems strange to only have the option to do it in your suit out of an O2 rich environment.

Mine Ice from snow bioms -> craft water containers

Or

Place water generator (requires higher tier contructor to craft, if not only advanced) -> get water container as output

From water container craft the large o2 canister ingredient (blue) -> Fill o2 tank at base or in ship just like fuel -> fill suit from oxygen station (it takes from tank automatically)

I only know of using the condensator to craft the oxygen consumables.

There are 4 ways to get oxygen.
1. emergency oxygen containers made with purified water in your survival constuctor.
2. small O2 bottle made with o2/bottled water generator
3. large O2 bottle made with water container and steel plate
4. O2 Station which you can fill and take bottles from and fill your suit.

I think only the large bottle will not fill your suit. Not sure though. i don't use them.

Water Generators can be crafted with a large constructor, don't need advanced.

Water generators are the main source of bulk O2. The water can be crafted into O2 tanks with a bit of steel plating.

The condensers work well too, though. I find it's easier to run a lot of them close to my base than have to set up a water station further away and ferry it all back. O2 bottles can be loaded into a ship's oxygen tanks same as the larger O2 tanks. Emergency O2 can be used for this as well.

Just made it with the portable constructor while I'm trying to level up to get my first SV engines, so good to know there's an easier route.

Please note that the blue oxygen tanks made from water containers can ONLY be used in conjunction with a base or ship. You cannot use them directly from your inventory. You have to load them into an O2 tank, and either refill your suit from an O2 station or ventilate an enclosed room.

Only emergency oxygen from the survival suit and bottles from an O2 condenser can by used as consumable items.
