Materials Hardness or Durability is that a thing?
Ok so in another survival game I play materials had there health stat but also a hardness stat. Say like small arms fire and low tiered creatures could damage a wood or thatch house but did no damage to metal. You could have like a metal block that was like 50 hp and a stone block with 1000 health. But if you didn't bring a big enough punch to a fight you did not even dent the steel but you could whittle away at the stone block. Was wondering if Empyrion had a similar principle or is the up grade just a hp thing? I apologize if this was already answered but got overwhelmed with forum and the number of subjects which is ironic cause I am adding a discussion subject. Sorry :(

Hardness is indeed a thing, once you get to higher building materials (IE combat steel) the only thing that can damage it is heavy explosives.

I think it starts at standard steel blocks for large buildings/CV are immune to small arms but vulnerable to high damage explosives.

I don't know the exact levels but it is a thing for players at least, don't know if the AI follow the same rules

As for bases is Xeno Steel more durable than combat

Also thank you so much for the super fast reply. I have been playing i think about 5 days maybe a week and i cant stop lol. I love to create, I love combat, I actually get a ASMR Zen thing going when i harvest and listen to so super relaxing music. So this game his all that plus now a bit of story and cool loot. Seems like i started playing at just the right time.

The hardness of blocks is a little strange right now. It will probably be set up better later on so we can see what is actually going on.

Every block has a 'material' it uses and every material has the same hardness. I'm not sure if this actually does anything. I've never tried changing it.

Most weapon or ammo types have modifiers to the damage they deal for different materials. These are annoying to track down since sometimes it's on the ammo and sometimes it's on the weapon.

The AI sort of follow the same rules, but the balance is all over the place so it's hard to tell what they are going for right now. I can say don't let drones and troops shoot your shields since they deal extra damage to shields. I think a few drones do extra damage to combat and hardened steel.

Xeno steel is more durable than combat since they use the same material modifier name and xeno steel has more hitpoints.
