Missing tutorial

I have owned this game for a long time. On paper, it think it's a great idea. I played around with it a bit over a year ago, and it didn't really catch me, so I uninstalled it and moved on to some other games. I just noticed that there was a big update, so I thought I'd take another run at it, and there doesn't seem to be any tutorial of any sort for me. I'm uninstalling and reinstalling after having entirely deleted the folder from my library, and I'm hoping that fixes it, but it would be really helpful if there was a "reset tutorial" option of some sort. I noticed an option to allow for in-game hints, but it was blacked out, and didn't let me make a selection.

I don't generally need hand-holding, and I actually like the "play around and figure out how things work" aspect of some games, but honestly I'm on the verge of writing this game off completely having barely actually played it.

If anyone has suggestions, they're welcome. If not, hopeffuly the devs will find this feedback useful, and I'm happy to expand on it if they wish.

Generally when you start a new game after crashing your escape pod you then get the tutorial start automatically.
This tutorial is exactly the same each time and there's no freebies from it so really nothing to lose running through it on a new singleplayer then return to whatever your live save is.

When you press F1 one of the icons at the top opens your PDA where you will find the Empyriopedia explaining game terms (I highly suggest reading the medical item summary).
The ability to run or restart the tutorial is also available from the PDA but this is generally only available on single-player.
For multiplayer servers the tutorial availability depends on how the server was setup and might not be possible to complete since any other person could have nicked the hoverbike you were meant to repair in the tutorial

Nope. I just reloaded, started a new game, and no tutorial. I am playing scenario. Might that be the issue? Do I need to play survival to get the tutorial? If so, it might be good if that were clear. I'll quit this scenario and try survival and see if that does it.

For the record, changing to survival doesn't help. I've seen what the tutorial is supposed to look like on youtube videos, and it's not there.

When you choose the starter planet there should be text under the picture in the middle of the screen. There in that first grouping of text you will see Tutorial followed by True or False. So yeah some scenarios will not have tutorials as they are sometimes created for more advanced players. Usually though if you change the starting planet most scenarios do have one planet that does offer the tutorial.

I just started a survival game where the screen clearly was marked "Tutorial: Yes". I crashed/landed my pod. I removed the contents of it into my pack, and have wandered around collecting some things and mining some ore. No tutorial. The PDA encyclopedia is there, but no tutorial.

The tutorial auto-starts at the beginning of a survival game. There are 3 separate pop-ups that must be closed to avoid the tutorial.
