Copy block shape & rotation

Is there still a way to copy a single block's shape and rotation on the fly? It used to be something like SHIFT + Right click. I've been away for a long time and am currently playing the A12 experimental build.

Yes, I know of the building selection tool in which you can select multiple blocks. I'm looking for an old feature that was a single click away for copying a single block.

There is no way to do this. I don't think it has ever been the case - there are a number of threads asking for it to be added. Perhaps you are thinking of something else? Shift-right click will delete a block on both sides of the symmetry line in creative.

I have never seen any way to do it. Many players have been asking for it, but as yet, it has never been implemented.

Ctrl+left click on a target block when holding a similar block type. I use this to copy textures mostly.

Block IDs in database changed several times during development, trying to copy a block from the older design could give random shape, it is not a bug by itself.
