for what you describe its a good chance you need another o2 tank or 2 to fully fill the ship with air to start with
The ventilator only has on/off and deoxygenize under config.
A space may be enclosed without a ventilator. This protects it from environmental temperature and radiation hazards. Artificially oxygenating a space, however, always requires a active ventilator. You can forgo ventilators completely on planets with breathable atmosphere.
ventilators are only needed on 'built' interior spaces afaik

does not absolutely apply to all sv's (or all hv's for that matter) which is what he has
the enclosed cockpits protect and oxygenates without them (vents), i guess to me they have 'space' since i can 'get in them' :P but i can see your point, its just semantics
so my bad there
