Block Radiation?
I had assumed that blocks... block radiation but I'm getting a generous dose in my kitchen from the warp drive downstairs.

Is there a way to block radiation? Like do different blocks (or force fields) work better or is distance the only way to be safe?

Distance is the only way.

Radiation and heat effect an area around the device and blocks won't shield from it (at least at the moment). I'm pretty sure the warp drive area of radiation is just 1 block though so as long as you are 1 block away you should be fine. So no sure why it would be causing elevated radiation levels for you standing a block above it.

He might be using a partial block shape floor to stand on, and thus, within that 1 block range.

No, it's a full block.

This is free cooking! Just leave your meat on the floor. It's fine, just wear heavy armor in the kitchen.

Thinking about it, it's weird that they don't have a way to visualize radiation in the debug menu.

Shouldn't need it as anything that emits radiation only does so for one block. Or is supposed to.

Air gap one block around the drive.

It is entirely about the distance.

Doesn't matter if there is an air gap. Radiation and heat aren't fluid. They only effect a certain area around the device.

Load that blueprint up in a new game and see if it is bugged still. I had a ship I built with an elevator in the middle of the ship. The center block of the elevator shaft was the outside environment. Loaded that ship in different games since..no problems.

Maybe they will add lead as another element later.

Yeah, I used a blueprint from workshop for an outpost and encountered the same thing. House was airtight and oxygenated yet there were spots in the place that had the outside conditions including radiation.
